Jefe, Are Gringos Falling from the Sky?

No, but it was white.

We had a snow storm hit us Monday night and Tuesday morning. Luckily, Monday we moved into the house that Scott and Suzie are renting in Benson, so we didn't have to weather the storm in the trailer.

Isabella woke me up at 4:00 AM to tell me that it had snowed. And, from what I hear from her cousins, she went back into the room they are sharing and woke them up to tell them the good news.

We didn't have any TV or internet so we had the kids get ready for school. Then Grandma Babs called and told us that the news announced that the Benson schools were closed for the day. The news was received with shouts by all the kids.

Scott took his van into Tucson and I was planning on driving my metro into work, but Lesley begged me not to take my life into my own hands (any more than usual) by driving on the highway that DPS had reported as being treacherous. I called into work and took a snow day also.

Lesley and I drove out to Mescal to feed the dog and make sure she hadn't frozen and I took these shots with my camera phone. I let Lacey out of her pen to walk with me over to the well so I could get the shovels to shovel the snow out of her pen. As we were walking across to the easement, there was a puff of snow a few feet in front of us and out popped a jack rabbit. Lacey chased it over the neighbor's hill. She didn't come back with it or any blood on her so I figure the rabbit beat her in the foot race.

It is very beautiful out there when it snows and I can't wait to experience it from inside my well insulated barn house.

I knew there was a reason we moved the fridge to the outside.

It cracks me up that they close school for snow! I don't think I ever got a snow day in Richfield!
:(

Too bad we didn't get as much here in Tucson. It would have messed up my flying schedule though.
