We awoke early on Friday morning and ran to the house to get a head start on the day. I took a quick shower and then started tackling the shed. We contacted the renters and explained the situation. They were very understanding and in no hurry to get out of their current house so we told them we would contact them when we were ready to hand over the house.
I filled the Lewis' truck with a load of stuff and headed for Mescal. While I was off on that errand, Lesley called to tell me that the water and electricity had been shut off at the Bellatrix house. She had gone back to my parents' house to help with the kids then returned to the Bellatrix house to shower and get some more work done. When she arrived she noticed the electricity had been shut off but thought that she could still take a shower. After getting ready for and hopping into the shower, she found out that the water had also been shut off. So she had to get dressed and the run back to my parents' house to shower. She called to inform me of the situation and when she hung up my chest felt like it was going to implode. I started to have a panick attack. It felt like we were never going to get everything done.
Did I mention that this was August first in southern Arizona? It was hot and humid. When I got to the Bellatrix house and entered the 2300 square foot solar oven I really started to lose it. I was ready to call the renter and cancel the lease agreement. I was paralyzed with anxiety. Now I have always thought of myself as a level headed, easy going guy who doesn't get worry about much. What I have come to realize is that I only had those traits because I never took risks. I have played it safe my entire life. This experience has been the biggest risk of my life. I have found tht I don't do well under pressure. I was ready to give up when the going got just a little rocky.
I called Scott to tell him that the whole deal was off and luckily his level head prevailed and he talked ne out of throwing in the towel. We made plans to go out that night to dinner to regroup and plan our next move. In the mean time I called my go-to-guy, Craig. He is a master trailer hauler and has a no-nonsense attitude. I arrnged to have him pull Scott's and my trailer out to the property the next morning. Scott and I also planned to pick up plywood for the floor in the tent early and get as much of the floor done as we could before we had to meet Craig at my parents' house to hook up Scott's trailer.
We went to dinner at Little Anthony's Diner. It is not what it used to be but it is still nostalgic and the food is good and the milkshakes are delicious. Then we watched Penelope, the movie, and went to bed.
Stay tuned to the exciting conclusion in part 4...

Wow, and wow again! I am impressed it took you so long to have your mini-heart attack. You guys are Herculean, man. Never in a million years could I have handled that much stress. What you guys are doing is so fascinating though. I absolutely love reading what you are all doing and am dying to see how Lesely and Suzie are holding up!
Now you know how I felt just before retiring form the Air Force. I kept thinking please, oh please let me back in! Then I went through it all again when BancTec laid me off. You're a champ! Do not worry, do not fret. Things will work our all right yet! I still think you're nuts though.
Are you ready to write the book on how to accomplish this whole thing? Good thing you are blogging about it as you go along so you can reffer back to your notes......
