Two of the mesquites were perfectly spaced to hang our hammock between. I used ropes that I scavenged from the downed tent to tie it to the tree. The kids love swinging each other in the hammock.
Their favorite thing to is for me to swing all four of them in the hammock at the same time. They wrap the sides completely around themselves and then dad swings them as high as he can. We have almost made it all the way around a couple times.(Who needs Disneyland?)
Somehow all of our kids have gotten the monkey gene. I think it is recessive and that Lesley must have had it also cause these kids all love to be up in trees or on whatever gets them off the ground. Maybe it's because they have a tall dad and need to be up on something to be up at eye level with me. Who knows?
Here's H-man posing all smiley, handsome-like for the camera.
Parkin's favorite pose shows his "good" side. I'm still not sure where he picked up this habit, but it surely didn't come from me. Honest.
Here's Livvey Jane relaxing royally in the hammock. She's definitely got to find herself a nobleman to marry, or at least someone who will treat her like a queen.
Bella Bear is our little panther. I won't be surprised if one morning I wake up to find her sleeping up in the tree.

On a completely side note, I finally got the boys' bunk bed set up. They were so excited that we played fort, tornado, and monster all afternoon and they had a "sleep over" on the top bunk last night. My main motivation for putting it up was to get Parkin in his own bed to see if it would help him stay out of our bed at night. After I snapped these photos, I moved Parkin down to the bottom bunk and he didn't come into our bed at all last night. Hopefully that will be the norm from now on.

You were not suppose to mention Parkin sleeping in his own bed, what if he reads this then we will never get our own bed back!!!!! GRRRR
The tree climbing gene just skipped a generation. Having grown up in Atomic City, ID where the only trees in town at the time were slathered in axle grease by John Weise (the owner) to keep us form climbing them, I would immediatly shinny up any tree I would come in contact with that wasn't greased. My cousins in Lava Hot Springs would spend hours and hours in the huge trees by their house. Monkeys unite!
What a fun backyard! I love the sleepover on the top bunk, what fun for the kids. Good luck with keeping Parkin out of the bed. Collin certainly isn't showing any signs of sleeping through the night yet. Maybe when he starts school?
Looks like fun. I don't know why you can't get Parkin to sleep in his own bed; I mean Lilli always sleeps in her own bed...for at least half the night ;) Good luck to us all on reclaiming our beds.
