Mom, there's a mouse in the car!

One of my most favorite memories from when I was a kid is of the times that we stopped at the Cache Valley Cheese Factory in Beaver, UT. We used to get the squeaky cheese (cheese curds) and eat it on our trip down to Arizona when we lived on Hill AFB. We would eat the curds in the back off our station wagon and say"Mom, there's a mouse in the car". What comedians! I don't remember how often we did it (maybe one of my older siblings or my parents can help me with that one) but I distinctly remember several of those visits.

On our trip back from Bountiful, UT we stopped in at the cheese factory so that Lesley and the kids could share in this fun memory of mine. The squeaky cheese is as good as I remember it.
We'll see if we have our own little Cochise Goat Cheese Factory in the near future where you can stop in and get some goat cheese curd or other tasty goat milk treat. Cheese curds are only good fresh so if you want to have these on a somewhat regular basis you will have to stop by and pick some up. Coming soon http://www.cochisegoatcheese.com/!

We also stopped to get gas at the chevron and took a picture in the enormous rocking chair they have out front.
We had previously taken a picture in that chair a few years back when Holman was little.

Here's a little shout out to Beaver's favorite (adopted) son: John Webster (again I would link to his blog but he has yet to catch the blogging bug).

Ah yes, what a wonderful sensation is eating squeaky cheese! The flavor is nothing to write home about, rather salty, but the squeaking is hard to describe. Too bad the squeakiness goes away somehow so you can't savor it later or bring some home to grandpa. I think you remember stopping there a lot because we would stop on the way to Utah then again on the way back. MMMMMM GOOD!

Gotta love the town of Beaver! My aunt lives there so we have been there a few times and driven by just this last weekend on our way to Bryce Canyon. I have to admit I have never stopped by the cheese place. Maybe its because Justin used to work at Gossners Cheese up in Logan and would come home very very stinky!! Maybe we'll stop there next time.
